neighboring island of Asura, a family has made their way to Isola, seeking a new
home. As their boat lands on the beach, they are greeted by a strange man and
begin to explore this mysterious new world." -Game description by Last Day of Work
The basics of the game
-Clicking on a villager will show a circle around them. To the bottom left of the screen, you will see a description of the villager you selected (name, age, skills, picture).
-To move a villager, hold onto the villager and drag them around the screen
-Dragging and dropping a villager onto a spot (like the coconut tree or the research table) will make them start working at that task. It will take a few times of dropping them on the spot to train them on a skill. When you see the ticker at the bottom of the screen say that the villager has improved at a skill, they are usually ready to stay on task, instead of wandering off. Sometimes the villager will stop working and the ticker will say that the villager is doing nothing. Just wait and see what the villager will do. If they wander off, then they are not trained enough on the task and you will need to drag and drop them on the spot again. If they go back to doing the task, then you are set to leave the villager alone.
-With touch screens, pinching your fingers in and out will change the zoom on your screen
-When dragging a villager around the screen, you will see phrases pop up on the ticker (such as, "Meka notices a strange plant"). Dropping a villager on that spot may produce and action. If it doesn't, take note of where these spots are, for future reference.
-Clicking on the villager description at the bottom left of the screen will take you to the details screen. Here, you will get to see a villagers name, age, gender, health, likes, dislikes, breeding selection, as well as a fill bar of how skilled the villager is. Selecting a check mark on the skills selection will allow you to designate what skill you want your villager to concentrate on. Note: The villager will only complete your checked skill if you train them first.
Technology
Tech points are like currency in this game. You gain tech points by having your villagers do research at the research table. The bottom left of the screen is the Tech icon. Push it to take a look at what you can buy with your points. Upgrading Research allows your villagers to gain tech points faster. Upgrading Farming allows you to gain new farming technologies. Upgrading Medicine allows your villagers to get sick less often and to live longer. Upgrading Construction opens up new sites to be built. Upgrading Crafting allows you to gather resources and create combinations. This will be needed to complete some of the puzzles. The more villagers you put to task at the research table, the faster you will accumulate tech points.
Puzzles
To the bottom left the the screen, is the puzzle icon. There, you will find the images of the various hidden puzzles in the game. The image is the only clue you get on how to solve the puzzles. Each puzzle has a meter underneath it to show how close you are to solving it.
Love Shack
The ruins of the love shack are located on top of the cliffs to the bottom left of the screen. Drag an adult villager on top of the ruins and they will start repairing it. Once completed, drag a male and a female on top of each other. It may take a while to get them to go to the love shack together, especially if they are worried about food. Just keep trying. Even if they go to the love shack, it may take several times before a baby is created. You will know it succeeded when you see the female carrying a baby out of the shack. In the villager detail screen, you can click on "Auto-Breeding" to have the selected villager automatically seek a mate. Note: They will only automatically breed with other villagers who also have "Auto-Breeding" selected. If you can't get them to go to the love shack at all, it may be because one of the villagers is too young. If they keep going to the love shack and no baby is created, it may be because one of the villagers is too old.
Lava Stone
Lava stone is used to do things like giving a special ability to a villager or skipping ahead when crafting. They are rewarded and randomly found. You will start out the game with 20 lava stone.
Some of the special abilities your villagers can gain are double max age, master gatherer, big head, double speed, and master researcher. To do this, go to the villagers detail screen. Underneath their name is a circle that says "Tap to add Lavastone". For the cost of 5 lava stones, you can spin a wheel and a special ability will be randomly chosen for you. This ability will only apply to that specific villager. You can respin the wheel for another 5 lava stones if you don't like the special ability you were given.
Make sure you use your lava stones wisely, since you don't get a ton of them. If you choose, you have the option of buying more lava stone at the marketplace. You can find this at the bottom left of the screen. Just tap the store icon.
